European and national health authorities do not have strategic public health plans to respond to the health issues related the migration inflows to Europe.
The CARE project aimed at contributing in this area, promoting the development of integrated specific public health plans. The aim of the mentioned activities was to identify synergies and complementarities between the public sector and civil society organisations, as well as existing good/best practices for addressing migrants’ and refugees’ public health needs. For this purpose, the most relevant groups of stakeholders, who assisted migrant and refugees at EU entry points and elsewhere, were documented – with an emphasis on civil society organizations – in order to locate the existing model of healthcare provision to migrants’ and refugees’.
The overall aim of public health planning activities of the CARE project was to promote the creation of a new governance model for migrants’ health.
